The prestigious “Heart of the Community Award” will be given to famed singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins during the 2024 One805LIVE! Concert. On September 20, at actor Kevin Costner’s oceanfront mansion in the Santa Barbara town of Summerland, California, he will receive this particular accolade during his performance. The One805 charity, which supports several programs that assist Santa Barbara’s first responders, greatly benefits from the One805LIVE! Concert.
Star-studded performances will be offered at the One805 LIVE! Concert, with Loggins joining an incredible roster of performers. The night’s main attraction will be Pink and Dallas Green, better known as City and Colour, who will perform as You + Me. Joe Bonamassa, Al Stewart, Richard Marx, and Alan Parsons are a few more well-known performers. This will be Loggins’ first live performance since his This Is It! farewell tour ended in November 2023, which gives the occasion much more significance.
Renowned musician and producer Alan Parsons will direct the concert. Loggins’ backup ensemble will be the house band for the occasion, raising the musical standard of the evening even more.
The “Heart of the Community Award” honors people in Santa Barbara County for their remarkable and ongoing charitable endeavors. One805’s co-founder and CEO, Kirsten Cavendish Weston-Smith, made a moving remark upon learning that Loggins had won the honor.
“One805 has chosen to honor Kenny Loggins in recognition of his extraordinary and constant philanthropic work in Santa Barbara County,” stated Weston-Smith. “At the concert, he will accept the award onstage.”
Alan Parsons and Kevin Costner, two founder members of the One805 board who have each made significant contributions to the community, are past recipients of this esteemed honor.
The One805LIVE! Concert’s earnings will go directly to One805, a group that supports Santa Barbara County’s first responders. The money generated will help the Santa Barbara County First Responders Funds, which give the county’s fire departments access to vital resources, including emergency life-saving gear, training in disaster planning, and mental health services. The organization’s actions eventually protect the community by ensuring that first responders are adequately equipped and ready to tackle crises.
In reaction to the destructive mudslides that ravaged the Santa Barbara County hamlet of Montecito, One805 was established to assist the local first responders after these horrific events, which resulted in the deaths of 23 individuals and the destruction of hundreds of houses. Since then, the group has dedicated itself to supporting people who put their lives in danger to defend and benefit the community.
The praise that Kenny Loggins received at the One805LIVE! The concert also shows his steadfast dedication to charitable giving and volunteer work. Loggins’ commitment to improving Santa Barbara County will be honored when he walks the stage to collect the “Heart of the Community Award,” solidifying his legacy as a humanitarian and an artist.
The 2024 One805LIVE! The concert will be a once-in-a-lifetime event that unites renowned performers with a community committed to aiding its first responders.
